29 December 2008. Now it’s Monday the 29th. We were up at 8:00 AM, packed and left the apartment at 9:30. We took a taxi to the Termini station; it was a very nice change from climbing on and off buses or the metro with our luggage. We took a very fast train to Naples (75 minutes). We had a very persistent old gentleman escort us to our slow train to Sorrento. There were beautiful sights on both sides of both trains. We were surprised to see snow on the mountain tops here in southern Italy. We saw Mt Vesuvius which was easy to identify. Upon arrival in Sorrento we called Marida to learn our directions. She would meet us in St Agata. We waited 30 minutes for a bus. Marida and her brother Luigi met us and drove us around the town and to our home. It was a lovely large apartment with a great view of the island of Capri.
