Just in from Brian

We have been having a great trip. Lots of walking and lots of steps and stairs but Mom is a real trooper! Thursday we did a bus trip around the City and got off at various points (to see the great cathedrals incl St Pauls outside the Walls where he is buried and it was awesome in the real sense of the word). Friday we did ancient Rome incl Capitoline Hill and its museums and the Forum and saw (but didn't go inside) the Colliseum. We did the Vatican Museum yesterday (incl Sistine Chapel) and today we went back to tour St Peters (couldn't do it at Midnight Mass). Saw the Pieta and the tombs of all the popes, incl John Paul II (pretty emotional).

Tomorrow we head down to Amalfi for the next 4 days

Rome apartment

The trip

Brian is going to take Mom to Italy for her 75th birthday. She has a new camera and is going to learn how to blog so that the rest of the family can keep track of them.
